OUR STORY

It all began in 1992 with NMI Communications in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, specializing in mobile phone accessories when the country's mobile phone business was just getting started.

As a result of being appointed as the sole franchisee for all of Sri Lanka's mobile service providers, NMI Infra (Pvt.) Ltd was established in 2009, marking a significant milestone in our company's history. NMI had established itself as a renowned leader in the mobile and communications industries at this point. Because of this accomplishment, NMI was able to expand its operations into various industries and business sectors.

Aiken (Pvt.) Ltd. is the only representative for the world-famous Casio brand; the sole agent for the Hitachi brand for ATMs and cash counting devices delivered to banks and financial institutions; and air conditioning products under the names Chigo (China) and General (Japan).
Imedra Healthcare (Pvt.) Ltd. is a Sri Lankan company that provides healthcare items and devices to the local market.

In light of this history and the impending outbreak of the COVID-19 global pandemic in 2020, NMI decided to enter the surgical mask and gown manufacturing and distribution business. We take great satisfaction in the fact that our masks and gowns are manufactured and packed in clean-room facilities that meet the requirements of ISO 14644-1:2015, which mandates that no particulate matter is bigger than 0.3 m. No more than 12 particles per cubic meter may pass through the mask barrier.

We have submitted certification applications for ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485, GMP with NMR, and ISO 14644-1. In addition, we have sought FDA approval and the CE marking, which will allow us to export our masks to the United States and Europe, respectively.
